Typically, relationships between objects and entities in SPF are created through the Relationship Builder, but tag-document relationships can also be created by publishing documents from the SP tools and via loading. However, a tag will typically be represented in multiple domains, and so a user must take into consideration the domain of a tag when building relationships to or from a tag. For more information about a tag domain, see Tags, Central Tag Allocation, and Consolidated Data Warehouse.
Other SPF objects live within other domains for which the “SPX” domain is the most common.
The following is a guide to building relationships between tags and other objects in SPF (including other tags).
CTA tags can be related to other objects in SPF. When a tag is published/consolidated, a relationship will be automatically created between the consolidated tag and the object.
CDW tags can be directly related to other objects within SPF.
Other objects can be related to CDW tags but not to CTA Tags. This restriction ensures that users who work directly in SPF do not unintentionally create relationships not seen by others.
Relationships between tags and documents can be understood to be to the master object of the document. Refer to The Structure of a Document.
