SPF has been configured with plants for Jansen, Jansen Stage 2 and Jansen outbound logistics (JOL). Each plant carries their respective documents, tags, and other objects. Additionally, there is a space named Plant Independent where documents such as standards and procedures can be located so that they can be shared by all plants. Model IDs also reside in the Plant Independent space to be shared between all plants.
While some users may have access to multiple plants, only PIM and Document Control can perform revision operations and update metadata to the documents in the Plant Independent space.
User with access to multiple plants, PIM, and DC must ensure to set their scope (refer to Setting Roles) when working on information from different plants. In particular, email notifications and links to SPF objects may be to information outside of their current "create" scope.
Packages are required to be specific to Jansen or JOL and package names should never be the same for Jansen and JOL.
Managing Standards and Procedures
Standards and procedures that exist in the Plant Independent space must be revised by PIM or DC before they can be updated and set for review/approval. Once PIM/DC has performed the revision operation, users who would have otherwise had the ability to update and transmit the document can then do so.
DC and PIM can move documents from Jansen to Plant Independent or from Jansen to JOL. Refer to Setting Plant Scope for JOL for detailed instructions.
