Files are objects in SPF that are distinct from documents. Each version of a document (refer to The Structure of a Document) contains one or more files. Often the version will contain a native and .pdf of the version, but may also contain appendices, data files etc.
Many files can be viewed within the SPF Viewer (View and Markup) but others such as ZIP and CAD files are not supported. As many non-viewable files are stored within SPF, you will need the appropriate application to use the file. You can use either the View File in Native form or Save Target As (Download) function.
In addition, internet security protocols also limit the file types that are accessible. If you encounter a file type that cannot be downloaded raise a support ticket to update the allowable MIME types. Refer to SPF MIME Types.
