SmartPlant design tools, such as SPI, SPEL, S3D, SPPID, “publish” information to SPF. The publishing process typically generates a native, pdf, and vecz file types within the SPF document version. The vecz file type is a proprietary type designed for use within the SPF Web Client. Using this file type within View and Markup will provide you with new capabilities in addition to the standard functions you know. Many of the capabilities include easier navigation like searching for a tag within the document and being able to perform actions to that tag directly from within the document. vecz files of 3D models have additional Visual Intelligence capabilities that allow for filtering similar to SmartPlant Review and snapshots that can be marked up.
While we encourage you to explore these exciting new features, you should still observe the same review and consolidation practices for the project; you should continue to mark up the pdf files. These features will be reviewed with stakeholders to understand what configurations and procedures to institute so that markups are consistent within the systems.
