This page describes how to create a technical query (TQ) in SPF.
Attaching SPF Documents and local Files to a TQ:

To attach SPF documents to your TQ refer to step 12 below

To attach local files from your computer or network to your TQ, refer to step 13 below.

Select Technical Queries
On the SPF Home page, select the Technical Queries tile.

Metadata Pages

The New Technical Query window contains two (2) pages of metadata fields.

The current page is indicated in blue with underline. Select each page by clicking the page name.

Note: The Related Items page is where you attach SPF documents if required.

Mandatory Fields
Mandatory fields are indicated with a red asterix (*).

Query Content

Enter main content of the query ( Subject, Message)

Enter optional information ( Proposed Solution, Impact)

Search for Recipients

Enter a search string in the Recipient search bar using * or % as wildcards.

Select the search button. The Recipient dropdown list appears.

Select Recipient

Select the recipient(s) from the dropdown list.

Repeat steps 6 and 7 as required to assign multiple recipients.

For Information

A query can be sent to one or more additional people for information purposes.

Enter a search string in the For Information search bar using * or % as wildcards.

Select the search button. The For Information list appears. Select one or more people you want to copy.

Repeat this step as required to copy multiple people.

Search for Facility Code

Enter a search string in the Facility Code search bar using * or % as wildcards , otherwise just select the Search button.

The Facility Code dropdown list appears.

Select Facility Code
Select a facility code from the dropdown list.

Autopopulated Fields
Fields (L1) to (L5) are autopopulated after selecting a facility code.

Optional: Attach a Document from SPF

To attach a document from SPF to your query, select the Related Items page.

On the Related Items page enter the document number or search string to find the document in SPF, then select it to attach to your query.

Optional: Attach a Local File

To attach a local file from your computer or network, select the NEXT button at the bottom of the Query Details page.

On the Details Page use the Browse function to locate the local file(s) to attach, then select UPLOAD.

Select FINISH

Select FINISH at the bottom of the page you are on to complete your TQ.

You will be returned to the Home page.
