• Cable Type Dependency option in the Domain Definitions screen under the Administration module was not enabled because once this functionality is turned on, users cannot modify cable properties. Instead a data quality report (SPI Cable Type_vs_Ref Cable Type_C3.xlsx) was developed to check category-3 exceptions for Instruments Cable Type versus Cable Type in Reference Cables. The report identifies cables where Cable Type does not match any Cable Type in Reference Cables.
SPI Reference Cables must be in the S3D Catalogue: These can be exported from the SPI and SPEL and the cable names and required information imported into the S3D Catalog Bulk Load sheet. This is done by the S3D administrators.
Zero-Length Cableway: For complete routing information back to SPI, and for the Auto Route to function, there can be no "air gaps" in the run from panel to panel. Non-reporting Zero Length Cableway must be placed in the model and used as part of the route.
Caution when creating Panels in SPI and S3D – no spaces: If the panel name does not display in the Cable Schedule window in S3D after retrieving the published document from SPI; this may be due to spaces in the panel name. SPI and S3D allow spaces in the name, and the data will even pass in the XML file, but once it hits S3D, it does not correlate the panels.
