Task 1: Working with View and Markup - Consolidation
Consolidation
Consolidation is intended to bring together the markups on multiple layers into a single layer so that clear direction is provided on any changes to be implemented. The Consolidate command copies the markups on selected layers to a new layer, so that a consolidator can work with all the comments at the same time. Note that Consolidate is only available after multiple layers have been selected. Should only a single layer to consolidate exist, the consolidator can create an empty review layer to work around this behavior.
When clicked, the Create Markup Layer form will appear, the same as for other layers. In this instance, be sure to change the Type of markup to Consolidation. It is also recommended to include “Consolidation Layer” in the description.
Click Finish, and then the new layer will be created with copies of the markups
Best practice is to hide the layers that have been consolidated and manage those markups on the consolidation layer created. Refer to Managing Layer Content (Markups) to make any required changes.
