Engineering Service Providers (ESP) should appreciate that all ESPs are working collaboratively in the same system. Fundamentally, all ESPs (including BHP) have access to all information within the Plant / Project to which they've been provided access. Commercially sensitive information excluded. They also have write access to the same information, allowing Integrated Project Teams (IPT) to work on the same information.
New ESP
New ESPs introduced into the system need to provide us with:
a Document Control email address where transmittal notifications will be routed for the ESP's document control team to action work items
members of the ESP's document control team; they are provided with elevated permissions to perform their duties
SPF will then be configured:
to exclusively route information addressed to the ESP to their mailbox
provide the document control team with privileges
with the additional ESP organization (include setting the collaborating partner flag) [Technical info: object - SPFCompany]
include the organization as a recipient (TO organization) for incoming transmittals [Technical info: flag - collaborating partner]
include the organization among those permitted to send (FROM Organization) internal transmittals [Technical info: object - SCconfig]
include the organization (if needed) as a default organization on published documents [Technical info: SPF Options]
include the organization as a default recipient for reviewing dossiers [Technical info: object - SCconfig]
existing information may be requested to also be updated with the new organization
if an ESP is being provided with multiple Plants/Projects, it is important to establish what access is desired for each scope
Example: An ESP may be provided with View Only permissions in one scope and Read / Write permissions in another
Workflow Objects: Construction TQs, Redlines, Dossiers, Scope Drawings, QIRs
The following roles share work items to complete. They can be completed by anyone from any ESP with the role (specific to the SPF Plant or Project). The respective authority for Construction, Commissioning, and Quality must advise the SPF Team (Zen Desk ticket) members of any ESP that need to be included within the roles:
Field Engineer (FE) or Field Engineer Mod Yard (FE Mod Yard)
Field Engineering Manager (FEM) or FEM Mod Yard (FEM Mod Yard)
Commissioning Scope Coordinator
Commissioning Manager
Quality Manager
Quality Manager QSR
Resident Engineer (RE) per site discipline
Resident Engineering Manager (REM)
Note that the RE role supports the use of a subcontractor, but other roles do not.
Note also that new ESPs cannot be recipients on information already delivered
