Approving Instrument Data Sheets from a Master Data Sheet

Many data sheets across the facility will be generated based on a typical.  Because all the data sheets will be essentially the same, the project has determined that the approval of a "master" data sheet constitutes an approval of other data sheets associated to it. The rules that govern this process are that master data sheets must be issued at Approved for Use and that any data sheet for which an approval is inferred from the master data sheet must be at a revision less than or equal to Rev. 0.  All instrument data sheets with a revision greater than 0 must adhere to the typical approval process.
The following workflow has been configured for this process:
Before submitting the data sheets in the workflow, users must specify the master data sheet with SPI and publish the data sheets to SPF.  The publishing process generates the relationship between the document revisions in SPF so that every revision of the data sheet can be traced back to a specific revision of the master that constitutes the approval.
Important: An important consequence of this architecture is that the relationship will be built to the latest revision of the master data sheet that exists in SPF (working or current).  Users should ensure that the latest revision of the master data sheet in SPF is the correct revision for which the data sheets will be approved before publishing them.

During publishing, the relationships will be created in SPF and the workflow will ensure that users are submitting only valid data sheets for automatic (inferred) approval.
